This basketball hoop has been at my house for 20 years. It is all rusty and an eyesore. Time to take it down. Not putting a new one up so looking for the easiest way to remove it.

I was thinking of renting a hacksaw from Home Depot and cutting the metal from 6 inches above the grass. Then I’ll put a PVC cap or something on it so no one hurts them self. Is this the easiest way? I don’t want to start digging up the concrete block. What do you think?
